8,000 torchbearers will participate in the 70 day journey commencing at Lands End on 19th May all the way through to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics on 27th July.

The route ensures that 95% of the UK’s population will be within a 10 mile radius of the seeing the torch making its way around the UK.
